GEF’s programs are diverse and inclusive, but they are all designed to build a strong community by helping families and individuals achieve self-sufficiency. Each year we deliver asset development, construction trades training and financial education along with employment services.
Affordable Housing Solutions
We’re proud to announce Pinecrest Development, our first single-family home (SFH) project, offering energy-efficient homes for low-income families in Danville, Virginia. While this is our first SFH development, we’ve successfully partnered with Fairfield Enterprise on rehabilitation projects in Maryland, helping revitalize communities there.
Program Goals and Objectives
- Develop Affordable Housing: We aim to create safe, affordable, and sustainable homes for low-income families and older adults, addressing the critical shortage of affordable housing in underserved communities.
- Collaborate with Community Organizations: We believe in working with local partners, non-profits, and stakeholders to ensure housing solutions meet the specific needs of the community, offering tailored support for residents.
- Promote Sustainable Building Practices: Sustainability is at the heart of our projects. Pinecrest homes will feature energy-efficient technologies, eco-friendly materials, and designs that reduce long-term costs for residents while benefiting the environment.
